Logan also pointed out in a Q & A session at the Louisiana Bankers Association's annual meeting that there is uncertainty about how restrictive the policy is now.

"It's too early to consider a rate cut," Logan said at an event in New Orleans on Friday. "I need to see some of the uncertainties on the road resolved, and we need to maintain very flexible policies and continue to focus on the data that will be released and see how financial conditions evolve."

Fed officials have kept interest rates at 5 per cent since their July meeting last year.luckytigercasino$60nodeposit.25% to 5.5% unchanged. Higher-than-expected inflation data earlier this year delayed expectations for the timing of the Fed's first interest rate cut.

Logan said in early April that it was "premature" to consider interest rate cuts and expressed concern that anti-inflation progress could stall.
